    Gibson Les Paul Wiring Schematics

    in Tech Talk - Gear/Guitars/Bass

50's lester schematic. This wiring is more dynamic between the volume and tone controls, they no longer act as just straight controls, this will actually cut low frequencies from your guitar down till around "4" on your tone control at which point it will begin to act like a normal tone control and roll off high end.

50's lester with Independent volume controls schematic. This one gives you the 50's wiring sound but allows both volume controls to work independently of one another, so, say youre in the middle P/U switch position with both pickups on, when you roll the volume down low or off on one of the pickups, normally both pickups will decrease in volume and if you turn one off the other turns off as well... this wiring allows you to roll way down or turn off one P/U without affecting the other. some people like this, if you are a vintage snob wanting traditional sounds, best stay with the standard 50's wiring job for your 2 humbucker guitar.
